Our favourite Gins at The Royal Oak

Adnams Copper House

Voted ‘the World’s Best Gin’ at the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2013.

A firm favourite on the bar at the Oak, served with tonic and a twist of orange for a dramatic burst of flavour.

Made with six carefully chosen botanicals, Adnams Copper House Dry Gin is elegant and approachable, classically charged with juniper, rich with floral and citrus notes. It’s warm and welcoming. Made using the ‘London Dry Gin’ method, where the botanicals are added directly to the spirit in the copper pot still. The resultant spirit is then brought to bottling strength to achieve the fullest flavour.

Adnams Gin is made with Juniper Berries, Orris Root, Coriander Seed, Cardamom Pod, Sweet Orange Peel and Hibiscus Flower. Of these botanicals, it’s probably the hibiscus flower which is the least expected.

The Copper House Distillery opened in 2010 in the heart of the brewery in the heart of Southwold.

Hendrick’s Gin

The Hendrick’s Gin Distillery located in Girvan Scotland produces what is described as the unusual, peculiar! They are absolutely correct. At  41.4% Hendrick’s is a firm favourite at the Oak even with a cucumber! The infusion of
rose and cucumber,  no other gin tastes like Hendrick’s because no other gin is made like Hendrick’s.

Infused with the remarkable Bulgarian Rosa Damascena and specially selected cucumbers from the finest producers. Hendrick’s wondrous botanical signature consists of flowers, roots, fruits, and seeds from the world over. They function to complement and set the stage for the delicious duet of infusions: rose petal and cucumber. The botanicals then work together Yarrow, Elderflower, Juniper, Angelica Root, Orange Peel, Caraway, Coriander, Chamomile, Lemon, Orris Root, Cubeb Berry to create the wonderful unusual.

Norfolk Gin

Norfolk Gin is an artisan gin, hand made in the fine city of Norwich, it is absolutely scrummy. With an overwhelming taste of oriental botanicals, fantastic. With an ABV of 37% it is a gentle giant. The gin was born in 2014 and launched in 2015. It is made in small batches by combining botanicals and neutral spirit to produce a uniquely flavoured gin. Once the recipe is done the stone jars are filled and labelled, how else but by hand. Each is then marked with its batch and bottle number. A unique product that we are happy to keep a secret, its that nice!
